A new word

I learnt a new word today:

Thanatology (orig. U.S): The scientific study of death, its causes and phenomena. Also (orig. U.S.), the study of the effects of approaching death and of the needs of the terminally ill and their families;

"The Oxford English Dictionary Online is a subscription service. Access to the Dictionary is only available to users with valid licences."

Not to worry, though. I have found Dictionary.Com to be very reliable. :)

Thanks for let me know -- I never realized that it was a subscription service. It's unfortunate that high quality information on the web isnt always free.
